Kapahaka Pt 5 - by Paenganui
Kapahaka Pt.5 from TheseKidsRock! on Vimeo.
I felt like a Maori chief when I was leading the haka. My responsibility was that I had to get my timing right for when I start my words for the haka. When I got the bit for me to say the haka words, I was the only one that put my hand up. It took a lot of practice for me to get the haka right. Our Maori Teacher Whaea Raewyn was the one who had to get everything ready. I really appreciate what she did for us - thank you.

Kapahaka Pt 4 By Kane
Kapahaka Pt.4 from TheseKidsRock! on Vimeo.
On Friday 18th the Kapahaka group did a practice in front of Room 6 and we gave it our all. Some of the group was frightened to do it for the first time in front of an audience. They was just staring at us and Miss Day and Tienera were filming us. When Paenganui used his loud voice for the Haka, I think Miss Day was frightened and some of Room 6 was too. I think some of Room 6 jumped up from where they were sitting. At the end of the performance everyone was clapping for the group, and then we did it again but with more excitement. It was awesome.

The Day that Tristan had a Maths Test with the Teacher By Lyrik
On Monday the 21st of March Tristan and his maths group had to go to Miss Day for a maths test. His team mates names were Leila, Mahdia, Bradley and Jedidah. He was very happy because he knew that he was going to have a maths test with Miss Day but he also thought he and his maths group were going to get into trouble for making too much noise, like when they were having a maths test with Mr Murry. It turned out that they were just having a maths activity!

Happy Hydrosliders! By Chevy.
On Monday 28th February Rooms 6/7/5/and 8 went to the Panmure Pools. We got to go on the hydroslide. It was a teriffic day. We had an awesome time - there were screaming people, just because they were excited. In this video there are people going down the hydroslide, showing their confidence by going down. The best part when we were waiting was we saw people just standing there being very patient. It was an awesome day...
P.S if you watch this you may see yourself having an exciting last day of swimming!

Goal!!! By Teagan
Hi, my name is Teagan and my friends and I were playing an interesting game of soccer, it's like we were in the World Cup. Tyler brought Tristan's Dad's friend to come and play with us. He had some good soccer skills: passing the ball, dribbling - even shooting. My team knew that he was going to be a tough challenge when he came along. Their team scored easily, but we were still in front just by a little bit. Yes we won 5-6 - it was a good game!

The Fun Softball Day Out-by Lavinia
In this photo I, Lavinia, am holding a purple bat with beautiful patterns. We got this bat at softball and every school got one too. The bat we got was really light and easy to hit with and everyone was fighting over who can hold it. This bat is kinda precious to us because we've never got anything at softball.

The Results by Teagan
This is what faces look like when they're confused. My name's Teagan, and I'm a little bit confused too because one person is getting 4 medals at our School Swimming Sports. Leila got 4 golds and was very happy. I didn't get any medals but I tried. Tyla got 4 golds and one silver. All the people who got medals were concentrating and focused ready to win. People had red noses from the cold water like me, and some people's teeth were shaking and shivering. I had fun though!

Cola is an international coach for little league baseball, so I wonder what is he doing at a primary school? Maybe he saw our baseball skills and wanted to show us better and badder skills... like the right way to hold a bat like the professionals do and show us how to make sure you catch the ball properly?

We're Playing in the Rain!! By Stefanie
This is me on the right dancing in the rain. I was kidding - welcome to Water World! I'm happy because we have just been on the water slide. It's dark inside it. Well, I have to get on with the subject, water was splashing and it was just like a dream come true. It was our last day of swimming, so Miss Day said, "Let's do something fun!". So we had all this shooting, running, screaming and many other fun water things!!!!

Jayden is sleeping on Bradley's shoulder and Bradley is leaning against the window as it shakes -that should have woken him up!

The Smiling Kid - by Kane
This is Swimming Sports Day and this is the obstacle course, which means the person I'm going up against,we both have to swim through hoops under the water. Group one always lost because we had to swim through 4 hoops and Group 2 only had to swim through 3 - so they always won just by a second.

Eek! Our Teacher is a Monster! by Miss Day
Actually, when Room 6 saw this dyed self-portrait I quickly did of myself, they said I looked like Fiona, from the movie 'Shrek'. Thanks kids!!
Thankfully, my class are much better artists than I am, and have produced some amazing work. Two pieces that have impressed me are Nicola's pencil sketch of herself and Puke's self-portrait dyed face. Keep up the great work, Room 6!
Look out in the coming weeks for other Room 6 artists showing off their self-portrait posters on our blog.

The Village of Shells - by Quaid
Hi, this is Quaid. On Thursday the whole school went to Eastern Beach. First we made a sand mountain with shells on the edge, we called it "The Village of Shells". Behind us are the cave men.
After that we had lunch and went for a swim. Then we finally played a treasure hunt game. We had to find one rock, shell, seaweed, driftwood and feather. After we all gathered our stuff, we went on the bus and played sleeping tigers until we got back to school. I thought this was a superb day to relax.

When I looked at all the photos afterwards, it looked like he was dancing, so here is a montage of all of his moves. Could this be the start of a new dance craze?!
