The Chocolate Makers - by Kane

On this awesome day our group won our prize - it was making chocolate! Our whole group walked over to the school kitchen with Miss Day. When we got there, Miss Day talked to us on how you make chocolate. Miss Day had a big bag of chocolate and a two way pot - the bottom half had hot water and the top had a lot of yummy chocolate in it. Miss Day put the pot on the hot element on the stove. After a few seconds Miss Day told one of us to go and stir the melted chocolate. When that was finished we had to get into groups of 3. Each group got one spoon. We got a little plastic thing with cool shapes in it: there was a bunny, eggs - 2 big ones and lots of little eggs with little zigzags and stripes. Miss Day got the pot of chocolate and put it on the bench in front of us. We picked up our spoon and got a spoon full of chocolate and put it in the plastic mould and then we put it in the fridge. At the end we got to eat some chocolate. It was an awesome day!

The Running of the Kapahaka Kids By Kane

On Thursday 31st March Tamati Coffey came to Room 6 to do his weather presentation in our class. After he did the weather, we had to stay quiet. We did 5 performances for Tamati. Our last one was when we all ran down to our Panmure Bridge School sign to perform the Haka. We ran on the cold grass and someone said they couldn't feel their feet as they were numb. It was fun.

Kapahaka Pt 4 By Kane

Kapahaka Pt.4 from TheseKidsRock! on Vimeo.

On Friday 18th the Kapahaka group did a practice in front of Room 6 and we gave it our all. Some of the group was frightened to do it for the first time in front of an audience. They was just staring at us and Miss Day and Tienera were filming us. When Paenganui used his loud voice for the Haka, I think Miss Day was frightened and some of Room 6 was too. I think some of Room 6 jumped up from where they were sitting. At the end of the performance everyone was clapping for the group, and then we did it again but with more excitement. It was awesome.

Jayden & Bradley the Sleeping Tigers. By Kane

After a long day at the beach we got on the bus and Miss Day said, " Everyone play sleeping tigers.'' Jayden and Bradley are sleeping very well. It looks like they're sleeping for real. Jayden is sleeping on Bradley's shoulder and Bradley is leaning against the window as it shakes -that should have woken him up!

The Smiling Kid - by Kane

This is Swimming Sports Day and this is the obstacle course, which means the person I'm going up against,we both have to swim through hoops under the water. Group one always lost because we had to swim through 4 hoops and Group 2 only had to swim through 3 - so they always won just by a second.

Adam and his Balloon Race - By Kane

On Wednesday 17th November 2010, we had our School Athletics Day. In this picture, Adam is getting ready for a balloon race. They had to put their balloon between their legs and hop across the court. Everyone had to do it and were not allowed to use their hands (but a lot of people did - they cheated! It was mostly the boys including me, so I cheated too, but Adam didn't cheat because he didn't use his hands - only when the balloon fell because he had to pick it up).

Awesome Athletics By Kane

On Wednseday 17th November 2010, Panmure Bridge School had their Athletics day. In this picture you can see the yellow team getting ballons for the ballon race. They all had to race from one end to the other while their ballon was between their legs. You were not allowed to use your hands - if you did that would be cheating and it won't be fair for the other competitors (but if the balloon falls from your legs you can use your hands to pick it up).
